St. Clements is a daughter church of St James, in the town centre of accrington, and meets in Green Haworth Church of England - Aided - Primary School with it has extremely close links.
The Church and School were first opened in 1833, though the building has undergone many phases of development since then.
Originally it was built to serve the outlying farms and hamlets in the foothills of the Pennines south of Accrington, but now worshippers (and school children) come from other parts of the area.
Because of the small size of the worship is best described as 'homely'. |
